Hello there, I’m Franco Deodato, I was born in Chiusdino (Siena, Italy) on August 24th, 1949.
I have been living in Rome since 1963 and I worked for ARPA (Agenzia Regionale Protezione Ambientale del Lazio in Rome) in the section of “Data processing” concerning the air pollution.
I am retired now and I am totally devoted to my passion and hobby, astrophotography which I have been practicing since 1980: once pictures used to be taken with color films, snapshots lasted 20/25 minutes and everything was performed manually.
However, with great satisfaction, in spite of those difficulties, some of my own pictures were published on the magazine “L’astronomia.”
Then technology came and brought CCD cameras and programs able to manage the equipment through computers and this is when I decided to start this new adventure leaving behind the “ancient” films for the new settings.
I consider myself a “travelling” amateur astronomer since I do not have a regular place where I go to, as a matter of fact when I go out I spend the night outside. Hoping you will find your own lucky star in my blog… Enjoy it.
